Former West Virginia Mountaineer Geno Smith Has Horrendous Day For Jets

Coming off arguably his best performance so far in the NFL vs. the Buffalo Bills, Geno Smith had quite the negative turnaround today against the Tennessee Titans. The former star quarterback for the ‘Eers did complete 23 of 34 passes, but was sloppy with the football. Geno threw two interceptions, and had an additional two embarrassing fumbles, as his New York Jets fell 38-13. Smith has always had a habit of inconsistency from game to game, dating back to his early college starts, and that inconsistency seems to be coming to a climax right now during his rookie season in the tough tackling NFL. Geno already has 8 interceptions on the year, and now 4 fumbles. His success is integral to how well the 2-2 Jets do this season, as the lack of production from many other positions on the team is causing many problems for the Jets coaching staff. After some observation, I have come to believe that Geno might be trying to do too much during plays. His reluctance to throw the ball away while under pressure has caused headaches galore for the offensive line, and he seems to often forget to tighten his grip on the football will running. I personally hope that the Jets coaching staff soon fixes some of Geno’s mechanics, as that is his main issue. His potential is through the roof, and this was only his 4th game. Alright Mountaineer Nation, let’s all get behind and support Geno!
