Former WVU, Marshall Coaches Begin Radio Show

The two greatest coaches in the history of both West Virginia University and Marshall University will be hitting the airwaves starting this Monday.

Former WVU Head Coach Don Nehlen and former Marshall Head Coach Bob Pruett will launch a weekly, hour long radio program each Monday on affiliate stations of West Virginia MetroNews.

You can listen in on the two coaches discussing the topics of the day by finding your nearest MetroNews radio affiliate in your area.

Nehlen, a 2005 College Football Hall of Fame inductee, went 149-93-4 in his 20 seasons for the Old Gold and Blue in which he won eight games or more in nine of those seasons.

Pruett went 94-23 with a 1996 Division I-AA National Championship in nine seasons in Huntington as the Thundering Herd’s head coach. Marshall also won five straight bowl games from 1998 through 2002.

The show would have been very interesting to listen to the banter back and forth between Nehlen and Pruett if the Mountaineers and Thundering Herd were still playing the now defunct Friends of Coal Bowl.

    Very disrespectful Chris.
Take the time to study the history of these two Universities before you end your post with what you consider a clever finishing line.
    Disappointing at best.

I’m sorry that you felt the final line was disrespectful, but to listen to Nehlen and Pruett’s thoughts on their respective programs playing each other today would have been very interesting to hear myself.
