It’s widely known that a decision will very soon be made as to who will be the next quarterback under coach Dana Holgorsen for West Virginia University. As of two days ago, however, further roster changes have been made and confirmed by WVU and Holgorsen. Fans are anxious to see what these changes will mean for the team in the upcoming season that starts in a matter of weeks.

Wide receiver Connor Arlia as well as tight end Will Johnson have been completely removed from the WVU roster. At first neither the university or the football program leaders did not confirm this news but later in the day, Dana Holgorsen cited that both players have officially put in transfer requests. He said the reason for the requests was playing time and that he would release them to wherever they want to go.

Last year, Arlia made 7 catches for 43 yards. Despite these low numbers he was one of the most experienced guys on the team after seniors Steadman Bailey and Tavon Austin graduated from West Virginia University.

In further roster changes, linebacker Isaac McDonald will be returning to the team after missing all of camp so far due to an injury. He is expected to be officially cleared to return on Friday. Two other names that we’re still waiting to see on the roster are Darrien Howard and  d’Vante Henry. Holgorsen has stated that Howard is out so far due to eligibility issues and Henry is out due to personal reasons.
