Reported earlier this week by various outlets including NFL.com, Pat McAfee was given the franchise tag by the Indianapolis Colts to keep him for one additional season.

The franchise tag is said to be worth $2.977 million once he signs the tender.

McAfee was excited about the extension, even if it is for one season:

Probably even more important, Pat McAfee will get to keep his foundation, The Pat McAfee Foundation, well-funded for yet another year. The Pat McAfee Foundation is dedicated to providing college scholarships to the sons and daughters of U.S. armed service men and women. Although, not everyone is as ecstatic about McAfee’s franchise tag:

You have got to love that Pat McAfee is never at a loss for words and is far and away one of the funniest men in the NFL. Indianapolis is lucky to have this guy around for another year, if only for the great commentary.
