8. Gray Helmets, Gold Jerseys, Gray Pants

Game Result: WVU loses to TCU 39-38 in 2OT

Reasoning: This is one of the wilder combinations that the Mountaineers rolled out this season with the introduction of gray to the uniform system.

Fans are split on this combination; you either love this look or you absolutely hate it. I am one of the fans that love it.

The gray pants and gold jersey is a nice contrast. Complimenting the gray pants with the gray helmet is a nice touch, but I prefer the gray helmet worn against Maryland earlier in the 2012 season (featuring a blue flying WV).

Some uniforms get an elevated appearance based on the team’s success in that uniform combination while others suffer as a result of a team’s struggles in that combination.

This is one uniform combination that, had the Mountaineers stopped TCU on that final two point conversion, many more fans would be fond of.
