8: Pat McAfee, Super Bowl XLIV

The first Mountaineers alumni to start in the Super Bowl in our countdown is Pat McAfee. The rookie, 7th round draft pick, was a starter from day one for the Indianapoils Colts.

McAfee averaged 44.3 yards per punt during the 2009 season, giving Peyton Manning and the Colts offense optimal field position on the way to a 14-2 record and a match-up with the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.

In SB XLIV, McAfee booted a pair of punts for 46 and 44 yards. He would not see much action in the game as both the Colts and Saints went up and down the field in an offensive track meet.

The Saints would take down the Colts in a thrilling 31-17 game featuring an onside kick recovery and pick six by the Saints.
