Update on WVU Men's Basketball Recruiting

Coach Bob Huggins has hit the recruiting trail hard this fall, in search of talented big men.

West Virginia has received verbal commitments from 4 of the top big men in the country to date. WVU has commitments from a pair of 4-star talents and a pair of 3-star talents (according to ESPN).

  • Elijah Macon, 6’8″ 210, Brewster Academy in Columbus, OH. 4-star Post Graduate PF.
  • Devin Williams, 6’8″ 220, Montverde Academy in Cincinnati, OH. 4-star PF.
  • Brandon Watkins, 6’9″ 225, Grady High School in Decatur, GA. 3-star C.
  • Nathan Adrian, 6’7″ 200, Morgantown High School in Morgantown, WV. 3-star PF.

Huggins is in desperate need of a physical presence inside this season and will need it more than ever next season with the departure of Deniz Kilicli and Dominique Rutledge. A group of talented forwards such as this will go a long way to improving the physical play around the basket that Huggins teams are so revered for.

It is also exciting to see the Mountaineers recruiting a local star player. Great to see West Virginia born talent getting an opportunity to star for the Mountaineers basketball team.
