With the start of Big XII play only two days away, we thought it would be an interesting read to take a look at WVU’s history with their new conference foes. The Mountaineers have a very brief history with Big XII opponenets, only having played the 9 other Big XII opponenets a total of 11 times (5-6 record).

Baylor (0-1 all -time)

The Mountaineers and the Bears only meeting came last year in the Las Vegas Classic. The unranked Mountaineers came into the match-up with the #6 ranked Bears as heavy underdogs.

West Virginia fell behind early, letting the Bears build up a 7 point lead by halftime. WVU, rather than folding in the second half, the Mountaineers rallied back to tie up the game and sending the contest into overtime.

WVU fought valiantly in overtime, but fell short to #6 Baylor 83-81.

West Virginia will travel to Baylor on February 13 and will host the Bears on February 27.
