Introducing the HailWV Fantasy Draft

With a whole extra week before the next West Virginia football game, the staff of have decided to conduct a fantasy football draft. No, this will not be your traditional NFL fantasy football draft. This will be an all-time WVU fantasy football draft.

All players, current and past, will be eligible for the fantasy draft. So any player from Rodgers to White will be selectable.

Each member of the HailWV staff will have 12 selections in the draft. Each team will be structured as follows:

  • 1 Quarterback
  • 2 Running Backs
  • 2 Receivers
  • 1 Flex Player Receiver/Tight End
  • 1 Kicker
  • 1 Defense
  • 4 Bench Players

The defense selection will be for one specific season. So it is acceptable to draft the 2010 defense but not the Jeff Casteel era defense. I wonder if anyone will draft this year’s defense?

Like most fantasy drafts, the draft order will follow a snake pattern. The draft order will be as follows:

  1. Ken Durbin
  2. Brandon Miller
  3. Alan Searles
  4. Patrick Pishko
  5. Patrick Pishko
  6. Alan Searles
  7. Brandon Miller
  8. Ken Durbin

And so forth and so on…

We will publish the results in four separate pieces, starting Sunday October 28 and ending Wednesday October 31 (trick or treat).

Topics: WVU, WVU Football
