There is no way around it, Andrew Buie was the MVP of West Virginia victory over Texas. The Longhorns were dedicated to stopping the pass and sending edge pressure after Geno Smith. Buie made Texas pay with big runs up the middle of the defense, keeping the Longhorns off balance for much of the night. He turned in a career best 207 yards rushing on 31 carries and scored the game winning touchdown. Buie also served as a safety release option for Geno in the passing game, snagging 6 passes for 66 yards.

Buie’s career performance has earned praise from sources all over the country.

He was named the offensive champion by the WVU coaching staff.

Buie was also named as the Big XII Offensive Player of the Week.

Even ESPN took notice of Buie’s big night. He was named as one of four finalists for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week. Buie currently trails Stanford’s Josh Nunes by 1% in the voting. So Mountaineer fans, get over to ESPN.com and vote for Buie as this week’s top performer!

It is only fitting that Buie receive such accolades as the Mountaineer rushing game usually plays second fiddle to Geno’s potent air raid attack. Credit well deserved for the up-and-coming sophomore star.
