New Traffic Pattern in Effect for Marshall Game

Helpful hint to those dedicated readers who will be attending the Friends of Coal Bowl on Saturday: there is a new traffic pattern.

As WSAZ is reporting, the traffic pattern for leaving the stadium will be slightly altered from last season. More of the traffic (three lanes) will be routed north on 705 towards the Mileground with only one lane heading south on 705 towards Van Voorhis.

Anybody who has had to sit in the post game traffic can tell you that any idea to reduce congestion is a welcome change. The location of Milan Puskar Stadium certainly makes getting out of town a challenge. Great city planning on Morgantown’s part is the issue.

Who thought it was a good idea to make the Mileground one lane each direction? You certainly can’t utilize Stewartstown Road to get out of town. The only exit on game days that makes any sense is through Star City.
