The Mountaineers get a big road victory and sweet revenge by beating the Pittsburgh Panthers 66-48 in the Petersen Events Center. The Mountaineers are now 17-10 overall and 7-7 in the Big East.

Kevin Jones had another double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Truck Bryant did not start the game but had 15 points along with 4 steals and 7 rebounds. Deniz Kilicli had 14 points and Gary Browne had 12. The Mountaineers were 44.2% from the floor and 94.7%, yes 18-19, from the free throw line.

The Panthers had two players that scored in the double digits. Tray Woodall had 12 and J.J. Moore had 10. Woodall also had 8 assists and 4 rebounds. The Panthers were 37% from the floor and 84.6 from the free throw line.

If this was the final Backyard Brawl in the foreseeable future it was a perfect ending for the Mountaineers. Not only did we beat Pitt, we did it in their house for the first time since 2005. This win has to feel good for the team because I know it felt good for the fans.

The Mountaineers have another long break before facing Notre Dame for the second time on Wednesday, February 22.
