West Virginia 74, Louisville 77

The West Virginia Mountaineers lost to 23rd ranked Louisville, 77-74, in the Coliseum. The Mountaineers are now 16-10 and 6-7 in the Big East.

The Mountaineers led most of the game before Louisville went on a 13 point run in the waning minutes of the game. Truck Bryant attempted a 3-point shot in the final seconds, but air balled it at the buzzer.

Kevin Jones had another double-double scoring 22 and grabbing 11 rebounds. Deniz Kilicli had 17 points and 5 rebounds. Truck Bryant had another difficult game. He went for 13 points, but was only 3-17 from the floor and 2-10 from 3-point range. He did have 7 rebounds. Jabarie Hinds led the game in assists with 6. The Mountaineers were 25-56 from the floor, 7-22 from 3-point range, and 17-27 from the free throw line.

Kyle Kuric and Russ Smith led Louisville with a combined 33 points. Chane Behanan and Gorgui Dieng each had 6 rebounds. Wayne Blackshear and Chris Smith each had 13 points and both were 3-5 from 3-point range. The Cardinals were 27-61 from the floor, 7-22 from 3-point range, and 17-27 from the free throw line.

The Mountaineers have a few days off to prepare for Pitt on Thursday, February 16th.
