So for today, we’re previewing this weekend’s Homecoming opponent, Bowling Green, and it will be a relatively short one.
People are asking, “Why Bowling Green?” This weekend, former WVU Head Coach (and the master of “3rd and Long? Run it up the middle) Don Nehlen will be honored this weekend. Bowling Green was Nehlen’s alma mater. Weather forecast has a potential of SNOW this weekend, along with mid-40s weather. Bundle up, folks! Having said that, let’s get to the football preview.

WVU is coming off a 47-21 loss at home last weekend vs LSU. History shows one of two things usually happen. Teams come out of the gate ready to improve and win, or they lay a egg for a half (see Norfolk State). Dana Holgorsen has the mindset that win or lose, you put it behind you and move on. BG runs a multi-attack offensive look that could give the Mountaineers headaches. From a defensive side, they are very sound, but the secondary is young.
Weather could be ugly this weekend with highs around 50 and rain possible. We could see WVU slow out of the gate with a hangover.. either way it won’t matter. Geno, Ivan, Stedman, and Tavon will continue to put up big numbers, and I think we have our first 100 yard rusher.
