Well, the Selection Sunday special has come and gone (like Rick Pitino did with Karen Sypher) and WVU has been seeded in the tournament.
They are the #5 seed in the East Region, and will play the winner of University of Alabama-Birmingham (CUSA) and Clemson (ACC) on Thursday, 12:15pm, CBS.
The East region has BRUTAL written all over it; along with WVU in the bracket, there’s #1-overall Ohio State, #4 Kentucky (who we may get a rematch against in the 2nd round), #3 Syracuse, and #2 UNC.
Other Big East teams in the East region are #9 Villanova and #11 Marquette.
Elsewhere in the tournament, sPitt got the #1 seed in the Southeast region. Look for them to choke in the Sweet 16 against Wisconsin. St. John’s is a 6-seed in that region.
Notre Dame gets the #2 seed in the Southwest region; Louisville is in as a #4 and Georgetown is a #6 seed.
We will have more coverage leading up to Thursday’s game against UAB/Clemson.
