Quick hits

Apologies for not posting in the past few days. Sinuses are a real bitch to deal with! I’m still not 100%… more like 80%. However, instead of doing a bunch of long-ass entries on everything that’s happened in the past few days, I’m just going to link stories of interest pertaining to WVU sports so I can say I’m caught up with everything.

WVU bows out of Big East Tournament, losing 67-61 to Marquette.
This game had “UGLY” written all over it. Unfortunately, I got distracted by a Fantasy Baseball draft… then, I decided to autopick the draft and focus back to the game… that’s when WVU blew the lead. Dammit. That 2nd half was very agonizing to watch, and made me want to ingest cyanide. WVU’s scoring was led by Kevin Jones who put up 15 points. The Mountaineers also saw 11 points from John Flowers, 10 from Truck Bryant, and 9 from Casey Mitchell. (No, there will not be “boxing” on this one.)

WVU now looks forward to playing in the NCAA Tournament. They will find out tomorrow (Selection Sunday, duh) where they will be seeded, what region, and who their opponent will be.

Lonnie Galloway departs WVU for Wake Forest
The only holdover from Bill Stewart’s previous offensive staff, Lonnie Galloway (former WR coach) is taking a job at Wake Forest. Galloway is from North Carolina, and saw an opportunity to go back home, be closer to his family, etc.

Pat White retires from baseball… future uncertain.
This was a sad, sad story for me to read. After I posted that he was no longer pursuing baseball, it turns out he is retiring from baseball altogether. Let’s hope Pat White figures out what to do with his future soon… he’s too talented of an athlete to be on the sidelines. (Pssst, Pat… CFL.)
