So the NCAA bloggers at Fansided decided to get together and do a College Football Roundtable. I will be linking theirs tomorrow, and I might give some analysis. Without further ado, here’s the HailWV seat at the Roundtable. Special thanks to my buddy Ben over at Victory Bell Rings for this brilliant idea. In fact, his Penn State roundtable discussion is posted if you want to read it. Ours is after the jump.
1. One player (on your team) that will be a household name by seasons end
Senior Running Back Noel Devine. No doubt in my mind this guy will be shouldering the offense this season… plus, he has become one of my all-time favorite players at WVU. Of course, my all-time favorite WVU player is Owen Schmitt.
2. Game on your schedule that doesn’t get talked about but should
Maryland– after a one year hiatus, this rivalry renews itself. Several years ago, the big story was Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen taking away a scholarship from Steve Slaton, and well, Slaton ran all over Maryland that night.
3. First glance at your schedule, whats your record?
I’m going with 8-4, 9-3. This is Bill Stewart’s judgement season. Stew’s Homers and Haters alike will agree with this one.
4. Biggest weakness
Obviously, it’s the quarterback situation, with Geno Smith only having limited experience. If he doesn’t do well or gets hurt, there are two true freshmen named Jeremy Johnson and Barry Brunetti ready and willing to step up to the plate.
5. Which unranked team will be ranked at the end of the season?
6. Which ranked team that isn’t named USC will look back and want to redo their season?
Pittsburgh, simply because they’re over-rated each and every damn year, and they’re going to snatch defeat away from the jaws of victory and choke when it comes to actually winning the Big East, and wind up playing in the Birmingham Butt Bowl.
7. Season end top 5.
4) Boise State
5) Ohio State
