Big 10 Starting a Fire

According to various news reports, the Big 10 has reportedly sent out invitations to Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers, and Notre Dame.

That would bring them up to 15 teams in the conference, and they’ll have their PRECIOUS (that word said in Chris Farley’s voice from “Billy Madison”) little Conference Championship Game.

Missouri and Nebraska come from the Big 12, Rutgers from the Big East, and Notre Dame as an Independent with Bowl agreements with the Big East. If all 4 teams were to join up with the conference, the total would be 15; and then the Big 10 would most likely bring in a 16th team.

The two big factors behind this expansion are the Conference Championship Game in football (as I previously mentioned), as well as the Big Ten Network. Yeah, they want to do a lot with that network, they just need the teams.

While I won’t delve too much into it, I will predict that Missouri and Notre Dame will go, Nebraska and Rutgers stay put.

I have a message to the Big East, ACC and SEC conferences: MAN YOUR BATTLESTATIONS!!! Or, better yet…
